Questions, answered

The things people ask us most.

How we make money, whether we sell anything, what we do with your data, and whether refurbished is safe. Straight answers, no hedging.

How we make money
Is Savvoo free to use?

Yes, completely. Savvoo is free for you to use. We earn a commission when you buy through some of our links, which is how we keep the site free. You never pay us anything.

How does Savvoo make money?

We earn an affiliate commission when you buy a device through one of our partner links. The retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. It costs you nothing extra, and the price is exactly the same as going to the retailer directly.

Does the commission change which products you show me?

No, and this is the part we care about most. Our matching is built so commission rates are never part of the decision. The deals we list are sorted by genuine price movement, not by what pays us most.

This separation is enforced in how the product is built, not just stated as a promise. Read our independence policy.

What we do
Does Savvoo sell the devices?

No. We don’t hold stock, handle payments, or ship anything. We help you find the right device, then send you to a trusted retailer to buy it. They handle the sale, the warranty, and any returns.

Which retailers do you work with?

We surface deals from established refurbished and used-tech retailers in the US, including eBay Refurbished, Newegg, and Amazon Renewed, with more partners coming online over time. We only list sellers we’d buy from ourselves.

What is a Match Score?

When our matching engine launches, the Match Score is a single number showing how well a device fits what you told us you need: your budget, how you actually use tech, and which ecosystem you’re already in.

It never factors in commission. It’s about fit, nothing else.

Refurbished tech
Is buying refurbished tech safe?

From a reputable seller, yes. A properly refurbished device has been tested, restored, and certified working, and usually comes with a warranty. The seller matters more than the label, which is why we only point you to retailers with clear grading and real warranties.

Read our full guide on refurbished safety.

What's the difference between refurbished and used?

Used means sold as-is, with no work done. Refurbished means a seller has checked it over, replaced anything worn out, wiped it clean, and certified it working. Refurbished costs a little more than raw used, and for most people it’s worth it for the testing and the warranty.

Your data
What do you do with my data?

Very little. Right now the only personal data we collect is your email address, and only if you choose to give it to us to be notified about new guides or products.

We don’t sell your data. You can read the full detail in our Privacy Policy.

Do I need an account to use Savvoo?

No. You can read every guide, browse every deal, and find a match without signing up for anything. Accounts and saved searches are coming later. For now, there’s nothing to sign into and nothing you need to give us.
